Eighteen determined cyclists are currently underway the final stretch of the 535km McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Northern New South Wales (NNSW) Ride for Sick Kids (RFSK) 2019.

Now in its fifteenth year, a group of novice and experienced cyclists are on their fourth day with one left to go in a bid to raise $200,000 for seriously ill or injured children and their families.
One of the eighteen cyclists is local Muswellbrook and Singleton McDonald's owner Phil Wilson.
Phil has exceeded is initial goal of $4,000 with over $6,000.
Driven by a passion for the work of RMHC, the group began their journey at McDonald's Inverell on Tuesday 10th September and have travelled south through the picturesque New England North West region, in an effort to raise vital funds and awareness for the cause.
The riders have been meeting local residents and school children along the route, stopping at Inverell, Armidale, Tamworth, Scone and today in Singleton, before crossing the finish line at John Hunter Children's Hospital in Newcastle on Saturday 14th September.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provide families with a home away from home while their seriously ill or injured child receives treatment in a nearby hospital. Last year, RMHC opened its doors to more than 770 families and provided over 7,750 nights of accommodation - helping to keep families close together.
RMHC Northern NSW CEO and RFSK NNSW 2019 rider, Ross Bingham, says, "Through my role as CEO to RMHC Northern NSW, I've met many families who have stayed at the House and heard countless stories of strength and bravery. It is these moments that motivate me to jump in the saddle each year and help raise funds to support families with a sick or injured child."
"Events like Ride for Sick Kids are crucial in helping to raise awareness and much-needed funds so that we can keep our doors open to families when they need us the most. I hope the group's efforts will inspire the local community to dig deep for the cause," says Ross.
Since the inaugural ride across Northern NSW in 2005, almost 8,000 kilometers have been travelled, raising vital funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
