The aim of competition is to find a young female Ambassador for rural NSW and the agricultural show movement.
It encourages growth and development of young women to become strong, independent and influential representatives of the local community.
This year the Northern Agricultural Association Inc. has received three nominations; Jasmine Paget, Aimee Flinn and Sarah Moore.
Jasmine Paget
Jasmine Paget completed her HSC in 2018 at Singleton High School and is currently in her first year of studies at the University of Newcastle studying a Bachelor of Primary Education.
The 19-year-old works at the Singleton Golf Club and tutors local primary and high school students.
She participates in Relay for Life each year and believes that becoming the Singleton Showgirl will help her with furthermore involving herself in more community activities.
"As a young girl, I always admired previous showgirls and their role within the community," she recalled.
"Being Singleton Showgirl would help me achieve my dream of impacting the younger generations through sharing my knowledge and experiences."
Jasmine told The Singleton Argus that she hopes to become a positive role model for young girls across the community.
"I hope to provide a positive and healthy role model for all, and share my passion for educating people in a positive, healthy way," she added.
"I am excited and I am looking forward to this opportunity that the Singleton Argus and Northern Agricultural Association Inc. has provided me."
Aimee Flinn
Aimee first moved to Singleton in 2009 and immediately fell in love with the town and rural environment at her families property in Elderslie.
The 19-year-old graduated from Saint Catherine's College Singleton after the completion of year ten, then she began to pursue her dreams of becoming a midwife with a traineeship.
She currently works as an AIN (assisting in nursing) at the Calvary Mater Hospital in Cessnock.
Aimee is involved with the Singleton Netball Association, the Singleton Pony Club and she also participates in local Rodeos.
"I would love to have the opportunity to be Singleton Showgirl to inspire the young women of our beautiful community to follow their dreams," Aimee said.
"I believe I would be a great candidate due to the respect I have for everyone I come in contact with, my gentle and caring nature, my love of the land, plus the determination to succeed and encourage other young women to step towards their goals."
Sarah Moore
Sarah received her High School Certificate after the completion of Year 12 at Hunter Valley Grammar School in 2018.
She is currently completing her certificate III in Agriculture at Tocal College in hope to pursue a career involving the support of women's ambitions in the agriculture industry.
"I aspire to finish my certificate at Tocal, then move onto supporting women's ambitions in the Ag industry by working on a station and becoming involved in the Country Womens Association to hopefully inspire young women within all agriculture related roles," said Sarah.
Each Sunday, the 19-year-old volunteers to help judge the Singleton Gymkhana.
She also is involved in the Singleton Town Band and performs at numerous events including ANZAC day and the annual SATS productions.
"I would like to become Singleton Showgirl as I wish to be more involved within the community, especially highlighting our agricultural industry," Sarah added.
The ladies will attend the official launch of the 2019 Northern Agricultural Association Inc. Singleton Show on Tuesday evening. We wish them the best of luck.
