Authorities have declared those not prepared to LEAVE NOW towards Wilberforce.
The Putty Road, which divides the ranges, has been closed since Tuesday however Hunter Valley RFS Superintendent Paul Best confirmed that Putty residents are able to access their homes.
"Putty Road remains closed for through traffic but local residents are being permitted through the road block which is great news," the Hunter Valley RFS district manager told the Singleton Argus moments ago.
"Multiple crews from the Singleton and Muswellbrook region are assisting in the fire which is being managed by the Hawkesbury RFS."
Earlier this afternoon local RFS crews returned to the scenes of Tuesday's catastrophic bushfire in Whittingham.
Thankfully the blaze was extinguished immediately.
"We can confirm today that there was a re-ignition at Whittingham on the Golden Highway near the service station there," he continued.
"Crews arrived and found that it was probably dust from mining.
"A further report on fire on the Broke road and again we have found that was caused by dust from the mining blast."
