Descendants of the Moonlight family gathered in Singleton on October 5 2019 to regonise their Scottish ancestry, the second time the family has had a reunion since the family stepped food on Australian shores.

Alfred and Alexina Moonlight, along with their four daughters arrived upon The SS Ballarat on April 25 1925 from Carnoustie area in Scotland.
Mr Richard Binnie had met Alfred while visiting Scotland with the hope of bringing families out to Australia to work his farms.
Alfred paid his own way to Australia the Moonlights soon settled into life at Mirannie with their four daughters, Alexina (Ena), Jean, Margaret and Annie.
The daughters all married local men: Alexina (Ena) married Reg Butler; Jean married Arthur Sinclair; Margaret married Les Kermode; Annie married Alurn (Dan) Brooker, with the marriages followed many children.
Many of who attended Maerannie (Mirannie) School. Family trees, photos and momentos were displayed.
A Hagges was had which was made by Lorna Stewart.
Alf Butler, being the oldest first Aussie Generation carried the Haggies which was piped in by Piper Joe Royston. A special Reunion cake was cut by Roslie Richard.
Muriel Bird told the wonderful story of the Moonlights.
Annie Dinnie recited the Celtic grace before a delicious buffet lunch was had by all. Not everyone could make it to the day but with over 90 people attending, fun was had by all.
