A SAFE JOURNEY: Robby and Jenny Merrick with David Vennetts welcome any volunteers who would like to help out with this year's Christmas Driver Reviver season.

The annual Driver Reviver will be operating at the Information Centre, located in Townhead Park, across the Christmas holidays for 12 days.

For decades, this initiative of the Lions Club has been providing a cup of tea or coffee to those passing by, much appreciated by those on the road.

The scheme will operate every day from December 20 through until January 1 with the exception of Christmas Day.

The Lions Club is calling for volunteers to help fill two-hour shifts open from 9am until 5pm each day.

PROUD TRADITION: The Singleton Lions 'Driver Reviver' initiative has been an ongoing travelers support break for more than two decades now.

Driver Reviver coordinator Jenny Merrick said they have had an excellent response from volunteers in the past, but do have many spaces left to fill on the roster.

"The service gives people travelling on their own, with kids or otherwise a break and a lot of people know all of the sites and like to stop for a talk," she said.

If you or anyone you know could spare a few hours, phone Jenny on 0407 208 551.
