Deputy captain Joe Adamthwaite admits he is proud to see the tradition continue after he brought the concept back to life in December, 2005.
"They used to do it when I was a kid here growing up on Macquarie Street and then they all of a sudden stopped," he told the Singleton Argus on Wednesday afternoon.
"We would chase them up the street and it was a thrill.
"So by the time my daughter was eight years old we decided to bring it back to life."
The Deputy captain, now 47, admits he was only four years into his tenure as a firefighter when he initially revamped the annual tradition.
"It was so hot and it was actually three weeks before our wedding," he added while standing next to his wife Anna.
"It took her (Anna) about a decade to join me on the truck but she has spent countless hours since its inception putting together all the work behind the scenes."
"Anna wrangles all of us boys, she deserves a medal to be honest," retained firefighter Andrew Porters added.
The Singleton 444 Fire and Rescue team will be visiting the following locations from 4pm to 8pm:
Monday (December 9): John Street, George Street and South Singleton
Tuesday (December 10): Queens Street through to Greenwood Avenue
Wednesday (December 11): Entire Singleton Heights and Pinical
Thursday (December 12): Hunterview and Pioneer Road
Friday (December 13): Maison Dieu, Gowrie, McDougals Hill, Darlington, Dunolly and Glennridding
MEANWHILE the team has asked for all children to put their safety first and only stand on the foot path as Santa and the brigade come past.
