Singleton Council made the hard decision to abandon the popular festive celebration on December 6, due to adverse weather conditions and deteriorating air quality.
But, Singleton Baptist Church (SBC) Pastor Andrew Allinson and Generate Church (GC) Pastor Sue Fellowes said they would still co-host the yearly family-friendly singalong at Allan Bull Reserve from 5pm.
There'll be food, drinks, jumping castles, a sausage sizzle, illusionist Tricky Yippy and a children's activity tent available, while the Singleton Heights Public School choir, Singleton Town Band and Combined Churches Choir are slated to entertain the masses with many Christmas classics.
"We're hoping God's looking after us," Pastor Allinson said.
"We are praying it will be a safe place - and leaving it up to the individuals whether they want to attend or not.
"However, both SBC and GC made the conscious decision a while ago to call off the fireworks.
"We've decided to get behind the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) and support them.
"Instead of sending up money in smoke, we'll help those who are currently dealing with the [fires and] smoke.
"We will have donation tins around Allan Bull Reserve, so residents can give generously to them.
"The NSWRFS volunteers, including the local brigades, are working under tough conditions at the moment - and doing a great job."
Pastor Fellowes said the Community Carols at the Heights could also be a stress-reliever for many people on December 7.
"There is a lot of anxiety around at Christmas time," she added.
"So, this is a chance to relax, enjoy yourself and have fun.
"Bring the kids and family - and forget about your worries for a few hours."
