The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting hot conditions for December 10, with Singleton expecting 43 degrees, Muswellbrook 42 and Scone 41.
Currently, the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) remains alert to a number of bushfires burning in and around the Muswellbrook, Singleton and Upper Hunter LGAs (Local Government Areas).
A Total Fire Ban is also in place within those three LGAs.
These include:
ADVICE - Meads Creek West
(Goulburn River National Park - Upper Hunter Shire Council/Mid-Western Regional Council)
Listed as "Being Controlled", the Meads Creek West fire has burnt out more than 10,500 hectares of the Goulburn River National Park and adjoining private property.
Firefighters - supported by earth-moving machinery and water-bombing aircraft - continue to work across the fire ground to consolidate and establish containment lines, as well as undertake back burning operations when conditions allow.
Ringwood Road remains closed, however discussions are underway with regards to its reopening.
ADVICE - Oaky Creek
(Wollemi National Park - Muswellbrook Shire Council)
Listed as "Being Controlled", the Oaky Creek fire has currently burnt out more than 37,000 hectares of the Wollemi National Park.
Firefighters - supported by local landholders, earth-moving machinery and water-bombing aircraft - continue to work on establishing containment lines and extinguishing the fire as it moves out of the national park onto open country.
Due to rugged terrain, this fire continues to burn un-contained along the south-eastern corner towards isolated properties situated along Nullo Mountain Road.
ADVICE - Kerry Ridge
(Wollemi National Park/Putty State Forest - Muswellbrook Shire Council/Singleton Council)
Listed as "Going", the Kerry Ridge fire has currently burnt out more than 36,700 hectares of the Wollemi National Park, Putty State Forest and Coricudgy State Forest.
Under easterly winds on Sunday evening, the Kerry Ridge and Gospers Mountain fires joined and moved towards isolated rural properties near The Ovens and Bin Ben.
Due to rugged terrain, this fire continues to burn un-contained to the north (south of properties along Widden Valley Road, Blackwater Creek Trail and Baerami Creek Road).
The Kerry Ridge fire also is burning into the Kindarun area in the north of Putty.
