The free indoor concert is a new introduction to the second annual sunset community event, but there'll still be a host of entertainment options including a mechanical bull, jumping castles, classic car display, face painting as well as food trucks, wine and beer.
Mayor of Singleton, Cr Sue Moore said the Australia Day Eve community celebration was a great way to kick off the festive spirit of the January long weekend, while revelling in all that is great about being Australian.
"We're really excited to see Twilight return for a second year, with loads of free family-friendly entertainment planned on the Civic Green and inside the Civic Centre from 6.30pm to 10pm," she said.
"Twilight is a celebration of what it is to be an Australian, and what better way than to kick back and enjoy a summer sunset with family and friends away from the heat of the day, with kids activities, and amazing Hunter Valley food and wine to bring in the long weekend in style.
"We've shaken things up by moving some of the festivities inside the Civic Centre and into the airconditioning this year, just in case we have a repeat in extreme temperatures, which will create an amazing concert spectacular for families to experience X-Factor finalist band, Audio Vixen, who will play hits from across the decades.
"Face painting, a balloonist and a host of other activities will keep the kids entertained all night long, while Mum and Dad can relax with friends with a drink from the licenced bar, listening to live music and enjoying delicious food from the array of food trucks on offer.
"Twilight will also see the return of the classic car showcase and even more jumping castles than last year, and some fantastic new additions including a mechanical bull and bubble machine."
Singleton's official Australia Day proceedings, including the address by Singleton Australia Day guest John Flannery, the announcement of the Singleton Citizen and Young Achiever of the Year and citizenship ceremony in which 38 people will become Australians, will be held on Australia Day at the Singleton Civic Centre on Sunday 26 January 2019.
Singleton Rotary Club will cook up a barbecue breakfast for a gold coin donation from 8am, followed by the official ceremony at 9am.
"Australia Day is a really important event on our calendar where we get to recognise the people who make our community better, and to celebrate what makes Singleton the best place to live, work and visit," Cr Moore said.
"I am also very excited to be welcoming 38 new Australian citizens at our official ceremony - it's a very special day for our newest residents and their families, and it's always such a pleasure to share in their joy.
"It's a great program for people of all ages to come together to mark what we all have in common as Australians, and I encourage as many people as possible to stop by the Civic precinct over the weekend to celebrate with us."
