The Hunter Inter-club Triathlon Series (HITS) is set to bring other clubs in the area - Scone, Newcastle, Maitland and Tomaree - to Singleton for races.
It's a huge event to be able to host, and it provides an opportunity to display the local facilities and talent.
STC president Scott Kime explained how the competition works.
"We race for points for our own club... so we'll have those clubs come up to here, race at our pool, race at our bike course and do our running leg as well," he said.
"It's a good opportunity for all of us to get together."
Following that, the Ironman season will begin, which is set to be particularly exciting for them this year.
This is because Singleton's Chris Gunn will have a chance to complete his 10th Australian Ironman, which will mean he gains a 'legends number'.
The remarkable achievement won't go unnoticed either, with Kime revealing the encouragement Gunn is likely to receive.
"There's a fair few people from the area also going out to join him and support him going around in either the full Ironman, or the half-Ironman in Port Macquarie," he said.
"So it's a big year for the locals given Chris is going to hit that milestone and we're all going to be there to support him."
The president said he had been racing with Gunn for a long time, and is astounded by his ability to continuously show up for the big events and remain in such good shape considering he has shift work.
He said that a local receiving the legends number would be an inspiration for others, and is hoping more people will join the club and enjoy that kind of success in the future.
