While Valley avenged its shock Round 1 defeat to Glendon at Cook Park 1, thanks to a four wicket haul courtesy of Daniel Hayes, the off field result proved to be a victory for both clubs.
"They (the Black Dog Institute) do a lot of work around men's mental health and the prevention of suicide and awareness of depression," Daniels told the Singleton Argus prior to the clash.
"It was an idea put together by myself and Max Willis (our secretary).
"And, we decided with the increased incidences of men's suicide that we should do something and raise money for charity."
The following businesses were also recognised by the club president:
- Singleton Sportspower
- Singleton OPSM
- Singleton ASN
- The Grainery
- Heights Bakery
- Trunks Gourmet Meats
- Cali Hotel
- Horse and Jockey Hotel
