The Singleton Seniors Festival Expo will be at the Civic Centre until 3pm this afternoon showcasing community services organisations and groups available for over 55s including:

There are also a stack of community services organisations providing information stalls, and a giveaway of high quality compost processed by ANL from the material collected in kerbside garden organics bins available to over 55s who attend the expo.

"This is an event to bring seniors together to access services and activities, or even volunteer for a local organisation," said Deborah McDonald, Singleton Council's Acting Director Organisation.

"The expo is covering sport, arts, culture, health and community services as well as special interest groups providing information and opportunities.

"It's wonderful that such a range of organisations and community services have come together to provide a one-stop shop for over 55s looking for information, a group to join or a new hobby," she said.

"This may be an event targeting seniors, but it's also a showcase that it's never too late to make new friends, try something new and get involved in the community."
