Singleton 444 Fire and Rescue team members believe a toy battery charger played the catalyst for a house fire in Darlington this morning.

Emergency services arrived at 7:30am to find the house was smoke logged however the fire had been extinguished by the occupant and that the occupant had evacuated.
"Firefighters went to work using a Positive Pressure Fan to ventilate the house from the smoke and a gas detector while wearing breathing apparatus to ensure the atmosphere was safe for the occupants to re enter the house," a team member told the Singleton Argus.
"The fire is believed to have started from a remote control toy battery charger."
MEANWHILE the investigation into the fire on the corner Burns Lane in the Singleton CBD held by local police has entered its sixth day.
The Singleton 444 Fire and Rescue team confirmed their attendance at 4:20am on Thursday, February 20 however declined to comment on the incident until the investigation is complete.
