Goadbsy has been busy on the track this week placing the finishing touches on his six-year-old mare 'Takara Truffle' ahead of Race 5 at this evening's harness event.
"At the moment we're all relaxed and comfortable, work was good and obviously being in a Group 1 she's in a hard race," Goadsby told the Singleton Argus.
"But for myself and the owners it is a big thrill.
"She's had a broken back leg and some stress fractures at the front but now she's probably in the top 10-15 mares across Australia and New Zealand."
Last month, Goadsby marked a significant milestone when clocking up 20 years in the industry on Wednesday, January 1.
Tonight's race (which commences at 8:26pm) makes for a fitting finish in what has been a nostalgic summer for the 39-year-old trainer.
"Everyone here puts in a lot of had effort and when she makes a race like this it makes the warm summer days and cold winter nights down here worthwhile," he concluded.
