The Singleton Heights Public School playgroup is a school initiative that invites young ones (0+ years to preschool) and their carers to the school for playgroup every Friday morning from 9:15am until 11am.
"The aim of playgroup is to help younger brothers or sisters of siblings already at the school feel included and welcome for when they begin in future years as well as introducing new families to the school," said playgroup organiser Alison Dagg.
Friday June 26 was the first day playgroup relaunched, which meant much needed socialization and interaction not only for the children but also for the parents.
"It's so nice to be able to be back, we used to look forward to our Friday morning hang outs with tea and coffee in the classroom," said one mother.
"Not seeing other people for a few months was difficult but we are very grateful we are allowed to be back on school grounds enjoying time with our children," she added.
Playgroup involves toys, arts, crafts, reading, drawing, play dough and anything with glitter and is open to any young families of the Singleton community.
"We're really grateful to be back at school and back at playgroup and to be able socialise, catch up, interact and let the children mingle to some extent again after weeks of isolation," Alison continued.
