In April this year the service was suspended due to COVID-19 but fortunately it is up and running again and women are being encouraged to utlilise the service.
The State Government-funded BreastScreen NSW provides a free mammogram every two years for women aged between 50 and 74 years old, with about 380,000 women across the state utilising it each year.
The service is for women in the higher risk category for breast cancer.
Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in Australia during their lifetime with a mammogram the best method of finding breast cancer early, which will increase a women's chance of survival.
The mobile unit will be in Singleton until September 4 with the service taking 20 minutes, no referral needed and the X-rays reviewed by two specialist doctors.
