AFTER being humbled by Terrigal Avoca last week, the Roosters were looking for a win to reinstate their confidence, and they managed just that against Nelson Bay on Saturday.

Travelling to Dick Burwell Oval to take on the struggling Marlins provided the Roosters with a good opportunity to put their attacking game on show.
The match finished with a score of (6.10) 46 to (14.15) 99, meaning the margin could have been significantly larger had the Singleton side kicked straighter.
Coach Jed Ellis-Cluff was thrilled with the performance, telling the team on Tuesday night at training he believed it was their "best performance of the year" due to the fact they played with the same intensity for all four quarters.
The opening quarter actually didn't go their way, with Nelson Bay leading 27-18 at the first break, despite the fact the Roosters had one more scoring shot in the term.
They upped the ante after that though, with a 5 goal to 1 second term, 2 goal to 1 third term and 5 goal to nil final quarter.
One man who made the most of the strong service coming from midfield was forward Sam Brasington, who has been in tremendous form this season. He kicked five goals and brought his season tally to a total of 20.
"Nelson Bay had to play three games in eight days, after having to play a catch up game on Wednesday night we knew we got them at a good time," he said.
"[It] was always going to be a tough task for them to play a full four quarters, once they fell away I was lucky enough to find myself on the end of a couple.
"[We're] looking forward to changing into the finals with a few more wins and gaining some of our quality injured players back into the side and giving it a red hot crack."
The Roosters will take on eight-placed Gosford this weekend at Rose Point Park, and will be keeping a close eye on the match between Newcastle City (2nd) and Terrigal Avoca (1st).
