The celebrated journalist and presenter's book examines the infamous Australian soldier Harry 'Breaker' Morant, who rose to prominence during the Boer War.
The free event will be held at Singleton Public Library on Tuesday 23 February 2021 at 6pm. Bookings are required in keeping with COVID-19 requirements.
Anthony Egan, Singleton Council's Director Business and Community Services said the author talk was the first of many regular fixtures to return to the Library over the next month.
"We are thrilled to have Peter back in Singleton - Peter is arguably one of Australia's greatest story tellers and I have no doubt the talk on his latest book Breaker Morant will be no exception," he said.
"It's really pleasing to see that restrictions have eased so that we can welcome our community back into our Library, with our full suite of programs to return over the next month - including the LABrary, Scrabble Club, and Code Club alongside our popular children's programs that returned last year like Storytime, LOL (Little Ones Library) and BIBS (Babies into Books).
"We've also got some other great events locked in over the next month, including a writing workshop with crime fiction author Jaye Ford, a talk about backyard permaculture by the producers from Purple Pear Farm, and an author talk from Joan McCarthy to celebrate with NSW Seniors Week.
"Obviously, the health of our community remains a top priority, so in line with NSW health orders, we are enforcing the two square metre rule, providing hand sanitiser, regularly cleaning all areas and ensuring that all visitors check into the Library via the Service NSW app QR code.
"Our team are also turning their attention to school holiday activities, so whether you're online or in the building, there's plenty happening in our Library."
