In the led steers, stud cattle and junior pararders and judging competitions broad ribbons headed back home.
It proved to be a fabulous show for Parkville's Tayla Miller, Blue Gene Cattle Company, who won the state final of the paraders competition, exhibited the middleweight champion steer on the hoof that was also a member of the Angus Stan Hill team and she prepared and paraded the grand champion Charolais bull - Taylor Made Quintrex, from Taylor Made Charolais, Willow Tree .
Now working as the agriculture teacher at Scone Grammar School Talya will now compete in the national paraders competition.
The Charolais grand champion female and supreme exhibit was the regular ribbon winner on the Hunter Valley show circuit, Tractor Nellie and her six-month-old heifer calf Bureen Nellie 2, from Bureen Cattle Company.
In the led steers St Catherine's Catholic College, Singleton exhibited the champion school steer on the hoof a Limousin that had won champion led steer at Maitland and Newcastle shows.
The steer bred by Liz and Tony Sutcliffe, Toebelle Limousin stud, Maitland and before arriving at St Catherine's had spent time at Camden Haven High School. He went onto to win the reserve champion school steer carcase.
Their Angus steer with a Meat Standards Australia (MSA) Index of 61.93 won the Virtual Taste championship ribbon. It was bred by Bruce and Helen Scrivener, Bonny Brooke Angus, Yarrowitch and was sired by Booroomooka Regent J133.
Middleweight champion carcase went to BW. and MM. Brooker, Main Camp Angus, Upper Rouchel with their 91 point scoring steer that was the reserve champion on the hoof. The Brooker family are no strangers to success in the steer and carcase competitions in Sydney with their Angus steers winning numerous awards over the years.
This year's winner was prepared for the show by Lyn Richards, McCullys Gap near Muswellbrook.
In the Murray Grey classes Compass Creek 'Cindy' and Glenliam Farm 'Greymist', and her calf Compass Creek 'Violet', exhibited by Compass Creek stud, Scone both competed for Senior Murray Grey.
The stud was awarded Champion Senior Murray Grey and Reserve Senior Murray Grey. Grand champion Female class was taken out by a Maefair female.
Katie Sutcliffe took park in the RAS Youth Show along with her Murray Grey entry Cindy and the pair would be awarded Reserve Champion Handler and winning Intermediate Judge.
In the dairy classes the Singleton based Wake family's Benleigh Brown Swiss took the cattle ring by storm, winning champion senior, intermediate and junior Brown Swiss female titles at the 2021 Sydney Royal.
Champion senior Brown Swiss female was Benleigh Goldwyn Peggy, sired by Bo Joy Agenda Goldwyn and from dam Blessing Starbuck Peggy.
