Last Thursday, Singleton, Muswellbrook, Scone and the Upper Hunter shires came out of lockdown after Upper Hunter MP Dave Layzell's advocation for the lift of restrictions earlier this month was deemed within reason by the NSW Government.
Belgravia Area Manager Amanda Lenton said the team at the gym and swim centre as well as their members were thrilled with the good news.
"We didn't open our doors until Saturday as we had a lot of preparation to do after the lockdown," she told the Singleton Argus.
"Both our staff and members were very grateful to be able to be back in the water and in the gym."
The centre reopened it's health club and swimming pools to members however are yet to open their group classes due to the daily changing of restrictions and rules by the NSW Government.
"We are definitely not back to operating as normal by any means, we still are not able to run group fitness classes which a lot of our members are very eager to get back into.
Being locked down and unable to see the people you train or swim with every day has proven a mental challenge, however our online classes have been successful and have kept our members connected during the isolating times," Lenton said.
Gyms, pools and indoor recreation centres within the LGA are allowed to operate as long as they have a COVID safe plan in place and are abiding by the rules and restrictions.
This includes wearing a mask whilst indoors at all times, one person per four square metres indoors and two square metres outdoors and sanitising and checking in upon entry.
