A small field of 31 players enjoyed the stableford competition on Saturday-real troopers facing up on New Year's Day after the New Year's Eve celebrations. Greg Tearle continued his good form in winning A Grade with an outstanding 40 pts.
David Matt finished runner up with an excellent 39 pts, also continuing his great form of late. He certainly found a formula for playing golf at a high level. Mick Carling won B Grade with the day's best stableford score of 43 pts, a great score in any circumstances. Mick played with Greg so it seems that they must have really inspired each other.
He finished well clear of runner up Dave Hodges with his 38 pts, a score which included birdies on the 4th and 13th holes-Captain Steve can't remember the last time anyone achieved this feat so very well - done Dave! David Pearce won C Grade with his 38 pts, just ahead of Mick Lutovac's 37 pts, on a day where 33 pts was needed to win a ball.
Murray Johanson hit the shot of the day finishing only 155 cms from the pin, which won him the Pro's NTPin prize of $52.
Captain Steve wants to remind everyone that the Mixed Foursomes Championships are scheduled for Sunday 9th January with the 3rd and 4th rounds of the deferred Club Championships to be played the following weekend.
