Concerned residents have voiced their frustration and fears of the possible impacts of the detiorating state of the road; however the private owner of the complex is unable to be contacted.
Due to the private ownership of the retail hub, the Singleton Council’s hands are tied.
Business owners who rent shops in the complex are also fed up with one stating they believe the state of the one way car park is “disgusting”.
The complex is a busy hub servicing the heights population of approximately 4700 with the eight shops that reside there.
With the continual wet weather and constant regular use, the physicality of the road has deteriorated, especially in the past six months.
Concerned resident Wayne Gardiner said the condition of the car park has been detiorating over time but the recent rain has made it a lot worse.
“The bitumen has started to break up and the pot holes are spreading.
“I am concerned an elderly person trying to cross the car park will trip and injure themselves, then there will be a huge liability case,” Mr Gardiner said.
“It’s a really busy little hub especially in peak times and the continued use keeps breaking the road away.
“It needs to be ripped up, re-compacted and re-sealed and the job needs to be done properly.”
A representative from David M. Williams Real Estate, who is the property manager of the complex, advised the car park was going to be fixed at the end of last week.
