With megaphone in check the guys hit hotspots around John Street to talk to the people of Singleton about what their party hopes to deliver to the Hunter.
“We find people are responsive to us in the street because they want change,” Mr Hartsuyker said.
Mr Johnsen said that if elected he would push to get rid of the carbon and mining tax to get confidence back in the business community.
“We spoke to one local business owner said that he hasn’t seen a situation this bad in 22 years,” he said.
When it came to the youth in Singleton both men said that the organisations that serve young people needed greater certainty of funding and a move away from the bureaucratic funding models currently in use.
By this Mr Hartsuyker meant youth organisations wouldn’t be applying for funding every year thus enabling to plan for younger term projects.
“We want to remove the endless rounds of grant applications,” he said.
Being the minister for sport Mr Hartsuyker said that local sporting clubs would prosper under a coalition government.
Mr Johnsen said that if elected the party don’t plan on bringing out of a raft of taxes on people because the current government cannot manage their financial situation.
