A free barbecue and morning tea will be held in the car park of The Argus office between 11am and 1pm and all are welcome to join the celebrations.
“This a important milestone for us today in the current economic climate and we would like to extend a thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years,” Argus manager Vicki Caelli said.
“We hope to continue to serve the community bringing local news and sport that’s only found in The Singleton Argus.
“Feel free to visit the office and say “hi” to the small team here.”
Also check out our special 24-page booklet inside today’s Argus with plenty of insight into the newspaper world over the years and the changes The Argus has faced during the past 140 years.
The paper has covered every major and minor event in Singleton’s history since it was first published on July 15, 1874, some of these front pages will be on display at The Argus office today during our celebrations.
The barbecue is being cooked by Singleton Lion’s Club.
