Hebden Quarries Under 18s
Singleton – Phoenix Black (Forfeit)
The Hebden Quarries/Singleton Windscreens and Glass U18s won their game due to an opposition forfeit.
Evolution Resource Group Under 16s
Singleton 22 – Nelson Bay 5
Singleton Bulls Under 16s travelled to Nelson Bay keen and eager to beat the elusive Gropers. With an almighty start from both sides the score was nil all until just before half time when Max Stafford took a sneaky ‘show and go’ try bringing the bulls on top 5-0 at half time. With an encouraging talk from coach Chopper Lambkins the Bulls were eager to hit the paddock again. With the commencement of the second half the bull’s defensive pressure was too much for the Bay giving the Bulls an opportunity early in the oppositions half. With courageous efforts up front from Mackenzie Doody, Lachlan Mullen, and freight train Carel Impy putting the Bulls closer and closer towards the Bay’s line until out of nowhere Jacob Godschalk and his Daisy duke shorts left the Bay dumbfounded and scored under the posts. The Bulls now had a healthy lead however while still in the moment of Godsy’s wonderful try the Bulls were now defending their line from the persisting Bay attack. With a sneaky try from the Bay the Bulls knew they had to pull their socks up and with encouraging words from Brendan Cook the Bulls were now ready. With busting runs up the center from Chance and Jack Carson the Bulls were again attacking the Bay’s line, with Carel Impy darting from the back of a scrum and crossing the line adding an extra five points on the board and Claude Bailey kicking sensationally all day adding the extra two making it 19-5. In the dying seconds of the game Kadin Howards sends a drop kick to the clouds and it sails through the sticks sealing the deal giving the bulls a sweet win over the Bay 22-5.
LJ Hooker Real Estate Under 14s
Singleton 5 – East Maitland 53
The LJ Hooker Real Estate U14s faced the 2013 premiers at home. The scoreline did not reflect the concentrated effort the Bulls put in, and most of the East Maitland tries were scored from missed one on one tackles, or clever set plays across the backs. The Bulls held well for the first 10 minutes with contained ball and structured rucking and mauling. East Maitland made the most of running with the breeze to post four tries for a 24-0 half time score.
The second half duplicated the first with another 29 unanswered points before Noah Alder sprinted 60 metres for the Bulls five pointer. Among those to shine in a tough game were Kyle Cervo, Harry Clancy, Beau Merrick, Alex Vaughan, Jett Derrick,Nathanial Edwards and shared Singleton Electec/Majestic Cinemas Players Players Harry Vasallo and Ollie Ryan. The boys have a bye this weekend.
Singleton Tyre & Battery Under 13s
Singleton 61 – Merewether Carlton 10
The Singleton Tyre & Battery Centre U13s ventured to the seaside on Saturday to challenge the young men from Merewether Carlton. The salt air clearly agreed with the Singleton lads as they raced away to a 35 point lead at better than a point a minute. The Singleton boys had a clear size advantage but the Merewether players never gave up, constantly throwing themselves into the defensive fray, a feat the Singleton boys would do well to emulate as they move toward semi-final time.
The front row once again led well with Smith, Langdon and Pitcher carrying the ball strongly. The flying backline performed well also, led by man of the match Ethan Burns, along with Hunter Damstra and Noah Godschalk.
The presence or otherwise of oranges at the break is unknown, however the boys did resume slightly off the pace with Carlton running in two quick tries. Normal service was soon resumed and Singleton ran out comfortable winners 61-10, with our impact players Jack Piper, Jacob Cox, Jesse Ford and Feenix Marley providing extra go forward when holiday fatigue started to show. All in all a solid performance after the mid year school break
Point Scorers were Maui Carroll, Otto Bailey, Bryson Rodgers, Isaac Barry and Ethan Burns. Well done all, see you next week!!
Safety Plus Training/Majestic Cinemas Player of the Match - Ethan Burns
CDG Law Under 12s
Singleton 48 – Macquarie Beaches 12
Singleton players enjoyed clear skies and a gentle breeze by the lake on Saturday to watch the CDG Law U12s took on Macquarie Beaches at Walters Park. The boys dominated on the scoreboard winning the match 48-12, half time score 19-7.
Lachlan Caslick scored the first try out of the back of the scrum after a strong push from the forwards saw a scrum against the feed. Will Partridge, Tom Stacy and Mitchell Cox all added to the board with a try each. Tim Ryan was once again in the thick of it crossing the line several times and the golden boots of Tom Stacy and Mitchell Cox kept he scoreboard ticking over .
Congratulations to Ben Couling who deservedly won the Eureka Canvas and Embroidery Man of the Match after several sneaky steals and stand-out runs, well supported by Nathan Andrews, Sam Harrison and Mackenzie Brown. The McDonalds/Majestic Cinemas Encouragement award went to Connor Agnew this week for pushing through illness and improved skills around the ruck.
Special thanks to John Woods who stood in as coach for the day in Parto’s absence and well done boys on the win.

Singleton Earth Moving Under 8s
Singleton 20 – Nelson Bay 25
It was an early start for the young Singleton Earthmoving U8s on Saturday morning as they travelled to Nelson Bay. The boys played a competitive game against their opposition but were nipped at the post by one try with the final score being 25-20 in favour of the “Gropers”.
The boys played with their usual sportsman like behaviour. Strong runs with the ball were made through The Bay defence by Thomas Cox, Jackson Maskey, Kye Hetherington and Lachlan Muddiman. Hugh Partridge and Nathan Vaughan were constantly involved in supporting their teammates and contributing significantly to some brilliant, in the words of the Honey Badger “meat pies” that were scored by Charlie “Chaz” Merrick, Jack Binnie and Hamish O’Brien.
The little Bulls were able to experience scrums and lineouts under the watchful eye of a very knowledgeable referee, who was keen to pass his knowledge of the laws of the game.
The Majestic Cinema man of the match went to Kye Hetherington for great improvement and running of the ball. A big well done to Kye.
The boys will play their last home game of the season this Saturday morning at Alan Bull Reserve against the Southern Beaches. The junior Bulls will be keen to finish the home season with their usual passion, flair and fun against the Novocastrians.
