The Singleton Earth Moving and Gleeson Civil Engineering First Grade worked hard in their 27-12 win over Muswellbrook while the McDonald's Second Grade were too strong winning 24-10.
The Bulls first team went behind first after a team try by Muswellbrook but found an extra gear to overcome the first division minor premiers in their own backyard.
Two penalties were converted by Daniel in the first half after the Bulls held onto to the ball in The Heeler's half.
Out of nowhere a broken play move by the green team almost resulted in an immediate come back try but the Bulls scrambled back to just force them into a knock on with the try line beckoning.
At the other end of the field spilled balls and desperate defense from the home side stopped the Bulls but it looked like only a matter of time before they scored and score they did through Sam Walker.
At half time the Bulls were in front 13-7 and looking stronger however as in sport one moment or mistake can change a game.
The red and black team came out even stronger in the second half and held onto the ball and had better field position.
They were rewarded with three kick-able penalties near the posts but Bates shanked them just wide, keeping Muswellbrook in the game.
The defining moment came after pressure from a kick chase forced Muswellbrook into a forward pass, unhappy with the decision the Muswellbrook No.10 slammed the ball into the ground which saw the referee upgrade the scrum call to a penalty.
Ben Osland took a quick tap and with the help of his team mates scored a try to give the scoreboard a better reflection of the game.
Muswellbrook weren't finished though and scored to set up a grandstand finish however a missed conversion meant they had to score twice within only a few minutes.
They were on track for an escape when Ben Osland was sent to the sin bin and they swung the ball wide, however they didn't see a sprinting Daniel Bates who plucked the ball out of the air to run 70 metres to score what would be the last play of the game.
Second Grade started their game slowly and conceded the first try of the game.
Uncharacteristic mistakes by the Bulls saw them on the back foot for much of the first half but they did manage to score a try of their own through Matt Staff to square the scores up 7-7 at half time.
Penalties were traded by the two sides at the start of the second half and a Muswellbrook player was put in the bin.
The Bulls looked certain to score through Mick Walkling however the ball left his hands after a tackle dislodged the ball with the try line in front of him.
But finally the Bulls found a way through when Richard Taylor crashed over.
Muswellbrook struggled to get back in the game and the Bulls closed the game out with Chris Visl scoring the last try of the game.
