And, local film-goers will be among the first to see the biggest movie release in years at Majestic Cinemas Singleton next month.
On December 17, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is unveiled with international box office records tipped to reach new heights, thanks to the seventh instalment of the George Lucas saga.
Audiences were introduced to iconic screen characters Darth Vadar, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo back in 1977.
Following the phenomenal success of Star Wars: A New Hope, the series also spawned The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), and prequels The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005).
The Force Awakens picks up the story after the demise of Darth Vadar, which took place in Return of the Jedi.
Majestic Cinemas Singleton manager Rhiannon Manning said the attention, to the latest episode, was incredible.
“There is definitely a lot of interest in it – more than usual,” she told The Argus.
“We’re even conducting special midnight screenings of The Force Awakens; and people are welcome to dress up in their favourite Star Wars character.
“We’ve also sold quite a few pre-sale tickets.
“It’s easily the most anticipated release in 2015.”
Ms Manning said extreme security measures have accompanied The Force Awakens, not only in the public domain but also within the movie industry.
“Although they’ve released bits and pieces of it, the storyline is a secret,” she said.
“But, it’s certainly attracted the old fans as well as a whole bunch of new ones.
“Everyone’s thrilled to see Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are involved in the film, too.
“Having director JJ Abrams on board has added an extra element.
“In recent times, he’s taken the Mission Impossible and Star Trek franchises in a new direction.
“He’s a real ‘fan boy’ – it'll be exciting to see what he’s going to do.”
