When Singleton's NSW Fire and Rescue crew arrived at the truck stop, located just off the New England Highway north of Singleton, they found sulphuric acid was leaking from the truck.
The tanker was carrying 13 000 litres of the dangerous substance.
A Hazmat team attended and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and waited for the transport company to send another truck to decant the remaining acid from the damaged one.
The scene was rendered safe at 5.30pm and the EPA left at this time.
