Not only will the annual march past mark the launch of the 2016 season, it will also form part of the official opening of the new clubhouse.
The community is invited to come along to see the ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling as well as the teams march in all their colour and confidence as the excitement of the season hits full swing.
The event is on Saturday, May 7, at 10.30am, with official guests including members of Netball NSW invited to mark the occasion.
Representatives from a variety of organisations who contributed to the construction of the new clubhouse have also been invited to join the celebrations, enjoy morning tea afterwards and take a tour of the new facility.
The project was a complete knock-down and rebuild of the clubhouse that now features state-of-the-art amenities that the committee will be smiling about for years.
The canteen is more than four times the size of the former facility and its design is proving a delight for volunteers to work in.
There are four separate dedicated store room spaces, an office and a meeting room as well as vastly improved toilet facilities.
President Kerri Koosmen said she and the committee will be delighted to show visitors around the new clubhouse following the official proceedings.
“I invite anyone who wants to see the facility to come along on Saturday,” she said.
She is looking forward to the opening, which will be an opportunity to showcase netball to the broader community but to also thank those so closely involved in the building project.
“We had a number of people who contributed financially and others who have been supporting the endeavours of netball in the community for some time – and this is a chance to say thank you,” Koosmen said.
“It is nothing for us to have up to 2000 at the courts each Saturday and our former clubhouse was sadly lacking.
“Now we have this wonderful new building, which opens up so many more opportunities for our local netballers as well as the sport on a regional level.”
