The Under 10 Reds played the Under 10 Whites for the premiership at Aberdeen on Saturday. Unfortunately there could only be one winner –the U10 Red team. But it was a close match (30-24), and both teams played some entertaining football.
Under 10 Red coach, Brett Ward says his team finished the regular competition in second position, and the White team was right behind them in third place.
With the Red’s going on to defeat competition leaders, Scone White in the qualifying final to advance straight to the Grand-final. Then, the Singleton U10 White team eliminated Scone White in the elimination final to set up this mate against mate Grand-final show down.
“Every player from both teams brought their A games and put on a great display of entertaining football that made the Singleton Junior Rugby League club proud,” he says.
“In a game that saw 9 tries in total with lead changes, there was never a time where one team was more than 1 try in front and every conversion on the day was successful. The game started fast and physical and continued right to the last nail biting second”
“It was great to see the large number of supporters travel to Aberdeen and watch these teams go head to head.”
He says there is an immense amount of talent in this Singleton age group and congratulations to both teams and every player in what was a very worthy Grand-final game.
