MORE than 60 shooters took part in the Singleton Clay Target Club’s two-day English Sporting competition at the Warkworth complex at the weekend.

The weather was excellent, which delighted all the participants and spectators.
A good crowd of 65 shooters on Saturday and 66 on Sunday, from all over the valley, Sydney, Quirindi and Central Coast, attended.

“At the presentations all winners were presented with great prizes and sashes while placegetters received the new club medals,” Singleton Clay Target Club secretary/treasurer Denis Pearce said.
“Everyone commented that the layout was one of the best we had produced and it was a great shoot with good weather, good food and good company.
“The usual big thank you goes to Anne, Robyn, Tracey and Ashley in the kitchen, as well as Julie in the office.
“And, finally, Jack Barker, Peter Fiorenza, Matty Eather, Darren Boonstoppel, Phil Allen, Olly Lighezzolo, Paul Jackson and Peter Poile who spent a lot of time setting up the field and filling the traps all weekend.
“It was a great team effort.”
The club’s next shoot is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 9 and 10, when the 100 Targets Double Barrel Championship, 50 Targets Single Barrel Championship and 50 Targets Point Score will be contested.
“This will be our second ever full two-day DTL competition,” Pearce said.
