Organisers have teamed up with Singleton Council to invite community and sporting groups to host their own free Garage Sale stall at the market free of charge on what has been proclaimed Australia’s national day of “good stuff”.
This year’s Garage Sale Trail will be held on Saturday, October 22 with households across the country encouraged to hold their own garage sales and prospective customers preparing to go shopping.
Mark Ihlein, Council’s Director Planning and Infrastructure, said as well as support local clubs and organisations.
“This gives community and sporting organisations the opportunity to raise funds through selling unwanted items to a new home, or simply selling other fundraising merchandise while promoting their organisation’s activities,” he said.
“The Garage Sale Trail has evolved into a national event to promote reuse, waste education and community building and it’s an initiative that Singleton Council is happy to get behind.
“We would encourage Singleton households to get involved by registering their own garage sales at garagesaletrail.com.au, and community and sporting organisations to take up the offer from Singleton Farmers and General Market and host a free stall on the day.”
