After putting out the call to the Singleton community they have managed to put together about 200 care packs for our overseas troops. They delivered them to the post office on Monday morning so all the boxes will arrive in time for Christmas. From magazines to Tim Tams and toothbrushes, the members of Singleton’s newest Rotary group were overwhelmed with the support they have received. Member, Ruth Rogers says students from Milbrodale Public School even wrote letters for the troops.
The Rotary Club of Singleton’s Sunrise group was formed in February, and caters for those who find breakfast meetings more accessible. It is also aimed at encouraging younger people to become involved with Rotary.
They meet every Tuesday at Singleton Diggers from 7.15am and the gatherings are informal.
