And now the Singleton Men’s Shed has the opportunity to expand thanks to a community grant through the federal government’s Stronger Community Programme.
With $9,987 in funding, the local organisation will now have the chance to build another shed on their property on Combo Lane.
The new facility will be used for both storage and as workshops for the men to conduct their work. This will also give the organisation a chance to facilitate more members, with 76 men currently involved.
Federal Member for Hunter, Joel Fitzgibbon said the local organisation continues to do wonderful things for the community and is a fantastic opportunity for the men of Singleton.

The Men’s Shed is not just about the work but the friendships and support networks it offers local men, particularly the elderly and retired as well.
Those interested in joining the local group can contact the Singleton Men’s Shed on 0448527807, with new members always welcome.
With the funding secure, the men are hoping to begin building the shed early next year.
