This year competitors will be pleased to know there will be some exciting changes to this popular festive season event.
Originally started by real estate agents Denis and Julie Pearce in 1993 the competition was carried on by First National Max Bailey from 2013.
Now the Christmas lights competition will spend its first year in 2016 underneath the revamped Bailey Property and Livestock.
Every year entrants manage to dazzle and captivate audiences as they drive along Singleton streets during the festive season.
Bailey are aiming to modernise this year’s competition with a number of improvements.
New signage will be distributed to all the entrants similar to the iconic teal Bailey branding, as well bringing voting to the digital age.
The general public can vote for their favourite Christmas lights on Facebook by tagging Bailey Property and Livestock’s Facebook page, or using the hashtag #christmaswithBailey on Instragram along with the address of the Christmas Lights.
“Our aim is to keep the competition as simple and effective as always, however we wanted to involve the community more than previously, which is why we have opened up for the community to vote through social media” explained Scott Bailey, Managing Director of Bailey Property & Livestock.
The closing date for entries is Friday, 16 December with the winner being announced Monday, 19 December.
Last year’s winners were a very popular choice as it was the must see display on Casey Drive. For five years now, the Hannigan family have been brightening Singleton with their dedication to decorating.
It is a long planning process, often beginning in March or April, but Luke and Kylie love creating a new light display for the festive season. Remember its a tough competition
