After taking part in a three week tour of the United States as a part of Hunter Drama’s International ensemble in January, he was selected to be part of the elite group.
His proud Dad, Tony Fletcher, says the full scholarship is roughly $2000 and covers his tuition for the two week academy.
“He was awarded it from iTheatrics who run the Broadway Junior Academy in New York,” he explains.
“They are also the ones who hold the Junior Theatre Festivals all over the place. It makes a huge difference to us financially as he has had to take up dance lessons again in Newcastle to cover tap, ballet and jazz which all comes at a cost, so this money can now be diverted into these lessons.”
Byron leaves on July 15, and returns on July 29.
