The centre at the southern gateway to Singleton has become a one-stop shop for a range of Council services such as registering companion animals, making water and rates payments, and booking in for your local organisation to feature in the free banner display.
There’s also the opportunity to indulge in a little retail therapy with a pop up shop showcasing local goods and services.
General Manager Jason Linnane said the expanded service range was part of a Council emphasis on providing outstanding and efficient customer service.
“We don’t want having to come into a Council to be an unnecessary chore, so we’re introducing ways to make it as simple and convenient as possible for people to take care of those little things, so they can get on with those bigger, more important things,” Mr Linnane said.
“Opening up the Visitor and Enterprise Centre to handle things like registering companion animals and water and rates payments makes sense because it gives people a second option if they need to call in, and best of all the VEIC is open on weekends.
“Combine that with lots of information about what people can do in Singleton, a range of locally-produced goods for sale and a café also slotted in to open in the not-to-distant future, and the VIEC is a destination in itself.”
The Singleton Visitor Information and Enterprise Centre is open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. They can be contacted on 02 6578 7560 or sviec@singleton.nsw.gov.au
