And, the 20-18 victory over the Singleton Greyhounds gives the “Black and Golds” a perfect opportunity to defend their title on Saturday, September 2.
The Tigers looked set for a big defeat when they trailed 18-4 at the break.
But, Aberdeen refused to surrender in the second half and gradually chipped away at Singleton’s lead, in scenes reminiscent to last year’s decider.
With the match in the balance, at 18-16, Millwood scored out wide to steal the encounter 20-18.
In the under-18 fixture, the Greyhounds accounted for the Muswellbrook Rams 28-24 while, in women’s league tag, the Merriwa Magpies cruised into their first grand final, courtesy of a 24-2 win over the Murrurundi Mavettes.
In the main showdown, the Rams accounted for the Greyhounds 28-10.
