These are the words of our humble, home-grown champion, professional bull rider, Cody Hefferenan.
The straight shooter making it abundantly clear that notching up a win at the Singleton Show Bullride this Friday night is just as important as his next big gig – the PBR Newcastle Invitational on October 7.
A good result at this international event will secure the current Australian Champion a spot on the Global Cup team. Heffernan says competing at this new million dollar event is an enticing prospect.
“The cup will see seven guys from each country fight it out to see who has the best bull riders,” he explains.
“This is my last chance to qualify; five guys have already made the team and there are only two spots left.”
After this Hefferenan plans on heading back to the United States, where he once again hopes to qualify for the PBR World Finals in Las Vagas.
In the world standings he is currently ranked 47, and 5th on both the PBR Australia and Australian Bushmen's Campdraft and Rodeo Association (ABCRA) rankings.
