Staff at the PCYC proudly showed off their brand new air-conditioning units when the NSW Police Assistant Commissioner, Jo Cassar, toured the facility on Thursday. Clearly impressed with their recent fundraising efforts, his only concern involved the rising costs of electricity. “How are you going to pay for the electricity bills?” Superintendent Cassar asked. Manager, Dave Andrews, was quick to respond saying “we will just have to sell more raffle tickets”. A task his right-hand woman, Vera Katris, has taken to with vigour since the pair set their minds to raising $30 000 to ensure patrons don’t sweat it out too much this summer. Dave says it has been a mammoth task raising enough money to fully air-condition the expansive building.
