Greg and Daniel Thrift's partnership wins match for PCH/Glendon: PHOTOS

Clear skies on Saturday meant all grades could take to the pitch in the Singleton District Cricket Association’s (SDCA) competition. And, it was the Greg and Daniel Thrift show at Howe Park when the newly amalgamated PCH/Glendon took on the inform Valley.

The openers not only formed a matching wining partnership but Greg also took three wickets. The pair made short work of the Valley’s respectable total of 198 with Greg scoring (81) not out and Daniel (95). Liam Storey was best with the bat for Valley, contributing 55 runs in the later stages of their innings. Match Statistics: 

PCH/Glendon 1/199 (Daniel Thrift 95, Greg Thrift  81no and 3/43)  defeated Valley (198 Liam Storey 55, Nathan Levy 33,Glen Russell 1/22).

In the other First Grade match JPC (8/148) defeated Creeks (144), with youngster Jack Turner top scoring (49) and Andrew Winsor not far behind on (41).

Denman 5/279 (Karl Bowd 85, Peter Mills 74, John Apps 47, Jake McCormick 3/43, Brady Bowd 2/3) defeated Muswellbrook 108 (Gurman Singh 27, Josh Cooper 20, Peter Turnbull 14 and 1/58, Bayley Carter 3/52).

Third Grade:

PCH Glendon 4/174 (Tom Druery 77 and 2/52, Cooper Bailey 58 no, Mitch Cullen 2/22) defeated Valley 7/173 Jason Newberry 52 and 1/16, Blake Campbell 33, Ethan Maher 1/28;

JPC 6/116 (Marius Botha 54 no, Craig Knox 30, Robbie Hedges 4/29, Keanu Botha) defeated Creeks 9/108 (Shane Cox 41, Jake Palmer 25 and 4/28, Brendan Miller 1/18).
