And, with numerous events all weekend such as performances, sideshow alley, bullriding, the demolition derby, wife carrying championships and the ever-popular sashing of the showgirl, the two-day event kept everyone in the community entertained.
Nineteen-year-old Taylor Giggins was crowned the 2018 Northern Agricultural Association Singleton Showgirl from deserving candidates Rebecca Emerton and Abbie Samuels.
“The three young ladies are all great role models for the girls in this community,” judge Penny Evans said on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Bellingen pairing Alan Fleming and Dylan Hedges won a second title in the Crawford’s Australian Wife Carrying Championships.

Preparation now begins, with an eye on the 2019 edition.
