After missing the first two editions of the tackle format, the Colts enjoyed a 16-all draw with the Murrurundi Mavettes, who posted the equaliser in the dying minutes of the highly-entertaining fixture.
Greta Branxton got the start it hoped for, when Robyn Draper sliced through the rival defence for a 4-0 lead.
Talia Bruce evened things up, at 4-all, for Murrurundi soon after.
Tries to Taylor Quinton-Widl (Colts) and Kimberley Brown (Mavettes) ensured the sides went into the break locked at 8-all.
A brilliant length-of-the-field team effort saw Natasha Colvin dive over in the corner to put Greta Branxton ahead 12-8.
But, Murrurundi refused to surrender, with Megan McLoughlin touching down to tie it up again at 12-all.
When Brooke Davis scored, for a 16-12 margin, it appeared as though the Colts had done enough to prevail.
However, McLoughlin’s second meant the two combatants shared the points.
