Sweden will cull about 1.3 million chickens after bird flu was found on a farm in the southwest of the country, the Board of Agriculture says.

The H5N5 variant of bird flu was discovered at Sweden's biggest egg producer near the town of Monsteras on January 18.
"Unfortunately, the disease has spread within the facility which means that a large portion of all the animals, around 1.3 million, will be culled and destroyed," the Board of Agriculture said in a statement.
