Electric Fields' Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross will represent Australia in the country's ninth year at the European song contest, SBS and production partner Blink TV have announced.
The South Australian duo were the runner up at SBS' 2019 selection show Australia Decides where ultimately Kate Miller-Heidke was chosen to represent the nation at Eurovision.
In 2024 the stage is set for Electric Fields who will perform their song One Milkali (One Blood), which incorporates an Aboriginal language of the Anangu peoples, Yankunytjatjara.
Fielding hails from the APY Lands and draws on his connection to Country and culture for the storytelling conveyed in Electric Fields' music, buoyed by futuristic compositions from Ross, a producer and keyboardist.
"We are buzzed with euphoria at our chance to share this music with the world," Electric Fields said.
"Our music comes from the deepest place in both of us and Eurovision is the most exciting opportunity to bring together our cultures and share the joy of our global connection."
SBS Head of Entertainment Emily Griggs said the duo would "captivate Europe with their genre-defying music".
"By blending catchy beats with a beautiful sentiment, they have crafted an uplifting dance anthem One Milkali (One Blood)," she said.
"With their unparalleled passion and infectious energy SBS is proud to have Electric Fields amplify Australian voices and leave audiences yearning for more."
The duo are the first South Australia act to represent Australia at Eurovision and the state's arts minister Andrea Michaels wished them luck for an "incredible journey ahead".
"Electric Fields ethereal performances have blown us away here in South Australia and now the world will get to experience what we have been spoilt with for so many years," she said.
However the duo won't be the only Australians at this year's song contest with Sydney singer Silia Kapsis representing her father's country of Cyprus.
In 2023, Sweden's Loreen took out the win with her song Tattoo, while Australia's Voyager finished ninth with Promise.
The Eurovision Song Contest is being held in Malmo, Sweden from May 7 to 11.
