Rowdy Walters from Denman was named the grand junior champion and at six years of age his enthusiasm was given a real boost, particularly when he was presented with a trophy and prize money.
Rowdy won the grand champion title with an Ancona Bantam he bred ‘all by himself’.
Poultry of all colours, breeds, shapes and sizes filled the newly revamped pens that were officially opened on Saturday by Mayor John Martin.
As reported in Friday’s Argus, the pens are the result of 12 months of work by members of the club and Saturday’s response by competitors and spectators alike was just reward for their efforts.
