SINGLETON Amateur Swimming Club celebrated an exciting season in 2014/15 full of triumphs at Club Singleton last Friday night.

Some of the club’s swimmers tested themselves against the best at the International Children’s Games at Lake Macquarie in December while, more recently, others have swum at state and national level.
The town also held on to the inter district swim shield, and club records were broken by Maddison Berry - 13 years girls 50m fly (33.97s) and Harrison Geale - 13 years boys 50m free (28.62s).
The club executive had plenty of thanks to give to new YMCA swim coach Andreas Falkenau, who has only been in the role for 10 months.
“He’s been tremendous for the club and helped our representative swimmers achieve and increased attendance,” president Melisa Geale said on Friday.
His dedication to the club saw him rewarded with the Barry Moore Team Spirit award.
Major award winners were: President’s Shield Jacob Barrow, Secretary’s Shield Kaitlin Van Zyl, Allan & Marnette Bull (A grade) Chantelle Smuts, Kevin Hallet (B grade) Olivia Davidson, Gail Crosdale (C grade), Dulara Perera, Rotary Award (D grade) Faith Radmacher, Lions Club Aggregate Bowen Burley, Milllard 200IM (girl) Maddison Berry, Graeme McKnight 200IM (boy) Lachlan Jones, Abigroup Club Records (girl) Maddison Berry, Abigroup Club Records (boy) Harrison Geale, Joan Bates Persistent Award Rhiannon Barrow, Ken Sever Consistent Award Julian MacDonald, Riley Young Club Night Champions girl and boy: Brooke Ingold and Oliver Berry; and the Barry Moore Team Spirit Award Andreas Falkenau.
