The first accident occurred about 500 metres south of the intersection of the New England and Golden Highways.
And while emergency services were in attendance at that scene involving a collision between two south bound vehicles an another collision occurred just before the intersection.
Once again it involves two south bound vehicles.
It is believed occupants in the first accident required transport to hospital.
This section of road has claimed nine lives in 11 years.
This week the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) announced they would be starting safety upgrades on the New England Highway including a lowering in the speed limit to 80km/hr on the southbound lane.
