At Cook park on Monday afternoon the music was pumping, both the young boys and girls present were fully engaged, and their mentors we keen to impart their knowledge.
This year level one coaches, Lena Botha and Cody Palmer, with the assistance of mentors, Luke and Maree Knight, will be running the program.
Around 35 children have signed up for the six week program that concentrates on making sure the participants learn the basics.
Singleton District Junior Cricket Association secretary, Belinda Stafa, who was busy making sure everything was running smoothly, says the children will rotate through five to six stations every session.
She says they will develop fundamental motor skills which set them up for a lifelong involvement in physical activity, as well as important social skills including teamwork and being a good sport.
