Yesterday the Branxton Golf Club member shot five under-par to take a two shot lead ahead of moving day at the Belmont Golf Course just one week claiming the Queensland title.
Lamb currently holds a five shot lead over fellow New South Welshman Jeffrey Guan however Singleton Club professional Les Bennett predicts a tough afternoon for the pair.
"It would be very difficult on a day like today because the course is right on the beach," Bennett told the Singleton Argus.
"There's one tee there which is the eighth tee where you can take two steps off and you're two metres off the beach and 50m from the sea.
"As soon as the wind blows it blows its head off and the course is nearly unplayable so genuinely the guys that play early in the morning are the ones that play well."
Last month Lamb also took out a second consecutive Singleton Open title over local talent Matt Dicks.
"When Corey played here he shot two over par to win off plus three and he said that Singleton was a tough track; that it was still hard to shoot a score on," Bennett added.
